Wildflowers + Gingham

Like wildflowers; You must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would. – E.V

The wildflowers have bloomed here Jackson, WY. These gorgeous bright orange-yellow wildflowers are called the Arrowleaf Balsamroot and they’re part of the sunflower tribe. They bloom in and around Jackson during the early summer.  Some fun facts about  the Arrowleaf Balsamroots:  you can eat the entire plant – it has a bitter and pine-like taste (good to know if you get hungry on a hike or camping). This wildflower has been used for medicinal purposes because the plant has been found to contain antibacterial compounds.

I love taking a drive through Grand Teton National Park. The stunning views and the awe-dropping landscape never gets old. Last week Mikey and I took a drive by Mormon Row to start our date night before we headed to dinner at Teton Tiger on the Town Square (one of my favorite places to eat in Jackson). I wore this off-the-shoulder black and white gingham dress with a pair of black sandals and simple jewelry. One my favorite features of the dress are the pockets. It’s a comfy summer dress that’s already a staple in my wardrobe.
