Brooks Lake Lodge is one of my favorite winter getaways. The cozy log cabins and lodge are nuzzled up in the Shoshone National Forest. A fun fact about the Shoshone National Forest – it’s the first national forest established in the United States – go Wyoming! 

In the winter, Brooks Lake Lodge is only accessible by snowmobile or a snow coach. It’s a 17 mile snowmobile ride to the lodge from Togwotee parking lot or five miles from Brooks Lake Lodge parking lot. The lodge and spa is an all-inclusive stay with the most delicious food – I ate the tastiest elk and duck of my life. The log lodge was built in 1922s and has all the western and rustic feels. Our cabin looked out to Pinnacle Buttes, Austin’s Peak, and Brooks Mountain. The views from any point on the property are breathtaking.

After the craziness of the holidays and planning out 2018, it was nice to get away, relax, and get off the grid. Mikey works like crazy during the holiday season so it was our first time spending a weekend together in over a month. This was our third time spending a weekend up at Brooks Lake Lodge and we always look forward to our mini vacation in our little log cabin so we can unwind and spend quality time together. We caught up on sleep, went ice fishing (I caught 6!), snowmobiling, and I finally had time to sit and read my book.

If you live in Jackson and looking for a weekend getaway or you’re planning a trip to Jackson – I highly recommend taking a trip to this beautiful lodge. It’s a great getaway to detach from our busy lives and live the simple life with no service or internet.
